The British Aikido Board have given Henry Ellis a public apology for the their conduct in the Controversy Issues concerning Mr Jack Poole. Mr Poole has never apologised for his bizarre claims, in-fact he continues to promote these claims, along with his associates the KenShinKai and Jim Johnstone. This site will continue to advise the martial arts community and the general public of these fraudulent claims. We are also protecting the proud legacy left to us all by Kenshiro Abbe sensei . It is a sad indictment that some people are prepared to support these claims whilst some are prepared to ignore them, we will not.

The Controversy Article The Controversy article is now a piece of British Aikido History, it is a story of a fight for what is right against what was so very wrong, the total disregard of the British Aikido Board for the true history of British Aikido and the legacy of Kenshiro Abbe sensei. without the controversy issues being taken to a Sport England meeting and resolved, the true history of British Aikido would have been changed forever.

Anyone who has read the article “The Controversy” or are familiar with the bizarre claims by Mr Jack Poole, will realise that if these claims went unchallenged they would change the face of British Aikido history from its inception by Kenshiro Abbe sensei in 1955 to Britain. Some people have said “Does it matter?” It may not matter to them now, in ten years or so there will be no one here to dispute these bizarre claim. There are unbelievably some students that despite all of the irrefutable evidence, still believe Mr Poole.

Minutes of the Sport England Meeting
SE/BAB/Ellis – 6th July 2004
A meeting was held on the 6th of July 2004. Sport England head of Governing Bodies / British Aikido Board / Henry Ellis. The BAB were instructed to give Henry Ellis a full public apology.

As a result of the meeting held on the 6th July 2004 with Sport England / British Aikido Board / Henry Ellis. The BAB were instructed to give Henry Ellis a full public apology for their conduct over the past four years. It was stated by the BAB that Mr Poole had been given the Bronze Samurai Statue to ” Appease him”.
The BAB also stated that Mr Poole could only substantiate his history claims from 1968. We had been telling them that for four years.
The KenShinKai Open Public Letter The KenShinKai have always openly supported Mr Poole and his fables. the attached letter was extreme even for them, Some muppet accused Henry Ellis of attacking Mr Poole’s claims because Mr Poole’s history did not agree with his, of course his history did not agree with Henry Ellis, Ellis was there with Abbe Sensei in the 1950’s, whilst there is ample proof that Mr Poole was a beginner in 1968.

Letter from the Doshu to Henry Ellis I was very pleased to receive this letter of recognition from the Doshu himself.
The Jack Poole Photo Gallery Here you will find many photos of Mr Jack Poole taken in 1968 at the Ellis Aikido Dojo in Slough. One can clearly see that Mr Poole is a beginner from his posture and stance. Of course it is clear to all except the ardent followers such as the KenShinKai and Jim Johnstone and a few other die-hards who believe that Mr Poole’s HAKAMA was in the wash when these photos were taken.
